DAILY TOUR TO IZMIR FOR HIGHLIGHTS AND SHOPPING AT HISTORICAL AGORA
OVERVIEW
This is a daily tour for higlights of İzmir and shopping at the historical Agora. İzmir is the third biggest city of Turkey. It has been going through every single part of antic and modern history. Being the hometown of Homer (the author of Illiad), Agamemnon, Hercules etc. the city has been known in the world's literature.
THE ITINERARY
We start to collect our group at 08:00am and leave Akbuk-Didim between 8:30- 09:00 am. After 2 hours we arrive at the center of Izmir. Our first place to visit is KADIFEKALE (Velvet Castle) where you can enjoy a panoramic view looking out over the city and take amazing shots of the city and castle while your guide gives the historical aspect of the castle.
Then we will drive down to the historical AGORA and walk through the Roman columns and hear a couple of tips from the epical Homer Illiad book and Trojan War. Afterwards we will drive from the Agora to the CLOCK TOWER, which is situated at the heart of city known as Konak today.
Afterwards, your guide will take you the thousand years old Bazaar which is also known and called Agora. Here we give you free time both for lunch and shopping. The Bazaar (Agora) has hundreds of shops, restaurants and cafes. You can walk through the Bazaar and find very affordable prices with anything you like.
You will experience the enticing smells coming from the spice stalls and can taste different delicious foods and beverages at the Bazaar. For the return we will meet at the meeting area where your guide will have already informed you all, then all go to the bus for the drive back to Didim.
